Marcus woke up early to pack his backpack. He had spent an hour on his math homework last night. He was proud of his work. When Marcus looked for his homework, it was gone! It wasn't on his desk. It wasn't in his folder. His heart began to race. Marcus thought carefully. He remembered leaving it on the kitchen table. He also noticed his dog Buster looked guilty. There were tiny teeth marks on his pencil! Marcus followed Buster to the backyard. Under the dog's favorite bush, he found his homework - a little wrinkled but okay. Marcus learned to keep his homework away from Buster!
